Replacing my broken marking knife handleby Mike Miller
Started my day off bright and early in the shop practicing some dovetails on a piece of oak scrap I had laying around and.... Snap! There goes my marking knife...
No big deal, I have a lathe... some tools, and I can fix it.
I head off to my scrap wood bin, and pick out an Oregon Myrtle-wood turning blank I've had for some time. I slice out a nice little one inch square hunk of it, and chuck it up in the lathe. This piece of myrtle-wood surprised me with some incredible figure once I put some shellac on it.
